Welcome to my Memorial Fundraising Page                          for Kathie Campbell Inboden

Kathie Campbell Inboden, 73, of Silverdale, WA, ascended to Heaven on May 28th, 2022.

She beat the odds as a “Six and a Half Years” Pancreatic Cancer Survivor with Tenacity, Courage and Charm.

She fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept her faith throughout the journey.

“We will always celebrate the light you were and the light you remain.”

Sacred words that my wife and I cherished “What a rare find is a capable wife! Her worth is far beyond that of rubies.  Her husband puts his confidence in her, and lacks no good thing.”  "Dear wife, I will miss your spirit and smile."

“You were a Fighter and We were a Team.”

Kathie was born on February 8th, 1949 in Bellefontaine, Ohio to John and Maureen (Shick) Campbell. Afterwards, her family lived in Catawba, Tiffin and Lancaster, Ohio.

Kathie graduated from Lancaster High School in 1967 and completed a Bachelor of Graphic Arts Degree at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in 1971.

In 1972 Kathie moved to California as a young aspiring artist.  She always liked to share the humorous story of her first job working at a Photo Mat on Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Hollywood, CA.

Kathie later lived in Palm Springs and Dana Point.

While in Palm Springs Kathie contributed monthly to the Palm Springs Guide, a tourist magazine full of activities, events, art shows and kids’ events in the desert.  She also designed the Birth Certificates for Desert Hospital and a design for the “Sun Bus” the local public transportation company.  Kathie’s Logo Design was chosen from among hundreds submitted as the official logo of Palm Springs 50th birthday. The logo was used by the Chamber of Commerce and the greater Palm Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau on all material publicizing the golden anniversary.

Also in Palm Springs, Kathie had the privilege to work with and befriend the famous industrial designer, Raymond Loewy. She also became good friends with entertainer Red Skelton who was a regular in her print shop. In her off-time Kathie frequently saw Gene Autry “The Singing Cowboy” at his Hotel.

In 1996 Kathie moved to Cross Plains, WI and accepted the position as Creative Design Director at Wisconsin Trails; a popular Regional Magazine that covered life around the state of Wisconsin, from people, outdoor sports, lore, history and culture to travel and nature. She also provided Creative Design work for Trails Books which published regional guides such as the Great Wisconsin Walks, The Great Wisconsin Touring Book and In Grandpa’s Woods to name a few.  She became an integral part of the community and publishing team working with many photographers, artists, journalists and others to develop exceptional magazine issues and books.

In her off time, she loved to garden at her country home, paint, making pottery, calligraphy, bike and cross-country ski in the winter.  She also donated her Creative Design skills to the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine.

On May 10th, 2009 Kathie married an old family friend, Frederick Inboden, in Sedona, AZ and joined him at his home in Silverdale, WA. Of course, Kathie transformed their home with her unique artistic touch both inside and out.  She continued to donate her Creative Design skills remotely in Silverdale to the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine and was acknowledged in her contribution to the completion of the textbook International Disaster Nursing-” that read, “We are indebted to the unwavering commitment and tremendous talent of Kathie Campbell Inboden, who realized the concept of the book.  Her vision, her aesthetic skills, and her untiring efforts made an idea a reality.”

Kathie was a spiritual gardener and donated her time as a Kitsap County Master Gardener.  She was a gourmet cook, loved magazines, reading, art, music, painting, theatre, symphony, fine dining, current events and crosswords.  She was also proud of her family heritage in the Scottish “Clan Campbell.”

Kathie was preceded in death by her parents John Campbell and Maureen (Shick) Campbell.  She is survived by her husband Frederick Inboden, Brothers Michael Campbell and Jack Campbell, Nephew Bryn Campbell, and Niece Miranda Campbell.

“The family requests that memorial gifts be designated to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center for Pancreatic Cancer Research. Memorials can be made online at  http://engage.fredhutch.org/goto/Kathie_Inboden or mailed to Fred Hutch, 1100 Fairview Ave N, Mail Stop J5-200 Seattle, WA 98109. Please make sure to include Kathie Inboden’s name when mailing in a donation.”

Future Celebration of Life or Remembrance events will be announced by the family.  Per Kathie’s wishes her ashes will be returned and scattered in Sedona, AZ at a private ceremony.

Arrangements are entrusted to The Stone Chapel Poulsbo, WA Mortuary poulsbomortuary.com.

If we are going to end the pain and suffering caused by cancer, we need to put our resources behind a solution. Your generous gift will spark hope for others by enabling Hutch researchers to develop new and better treatments, paving the way for a future free of this terrible disease.

Sincerely,

Frederick Inboden
