Emerging Frontiers in Oncology

Fred Hutch’s Climb to Fight Cancer is the perfect platform for outdoor enthusiasts to connect their love of climbing to raising awareness and funds for cancer research. I was part of the 2019 Mt. Kilimanjaro team which raised more than $1.5 million to support cancer research at Fred Hutch. For 2020, I'm setting my sights on Everest Base Camp as part of Luke Timmerman’s Everest Base Camp Trek Climb to Fight Cancer team, which aims to raise another $1 million for cancer research.

In support of this effort, I’ve gathered a group of thought leaders, biotech execs, investors, and entrepreneurs within and adjacent to the Boston community to share their perspectives at the 2nd Emerging Frontiers in Oncology: Developing a Dynamic Bridge Around the Globe to Accelerate Oncology Innovation. Together, we will discuss and debate the drivers of future breakthroughs in oncology across three major domains:

  • Research: Biotech is a melting pot do region-specific funding structures coalesce in a way that is supportive of a future global pipeline?
  • Innovation: Networked hubs what are the most relevant models given recent market events in oncology?
  • People: Replenishing industry hubs' talent pools how can we better leverage region-specific skillsets?

We’ve seen many important global advances in oncology in recent years, from China charging the way in late stage clinical development and CMC, to a burgeoning Israeli research environment, to Europe’s mainstay as a critical player in innovation. The summit aims to facilitate a provocative discussion on what will drive the innovations yet to come.

All proceeds benefit the Everest Base Camp Trek Climb to Fight Cancer at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

Cocktails and networking will take place at Catalyst Restaurant (300 Technology Square, Cambridge, MA 02139) from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Together, I know we can make a difference in the fight against cancer. Thank you for your support!
