I am participating in the 2020 Defeat Multiple Myeloma 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk because I want to take action and have an impact in the fight against this cancer. I want to bring new treatments to patients and provide the hope of a cure. Will you help me?
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts; 100% of all funds raised will go directly to advancing multiple myeloma cancer research at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center!
Why support this event?
Defeat Multiple Myeloma’s mission is to raise awareness of multiple myeloma while supporting research that seeks to discover new treatments, improve the quality of life for myeloma patients, and ultimately find a cure for this devastating form of cancer. Funds from the 2020 Defeat Multiple Myeloma event will continue to support immunotherapy research and clinical trials at Fred Hutch which are using CAR-T cells and have shown very promising early results for patients.
I am one of those early patients, being the 1st participant in the 2nd trial conducted by Hutch and the Seattle Cancer Care alliance. I received my CAR-T cell infusion in August 2018 and was pronounced "in remission" in August 2019 and continue to so through today. I have been very blessed have a normal quality of life after going through various chemtherapy treaments through 2017 without seeing any positive results and thus not being eligable for traditon treatments of Multple Myeloma. In 2018 I was fortunate to be able to become a patient of Dr. Damian Green at the SCCA which created the opportunity for me to participate in the CAR-T cell trial.
I hope you have the opportunity to to support me in one of several ways:
1. Pray for a cure and spiritually support everyone who is walking/running in this event
2. Donate to support the cause; again 100% of all money raised goes directly to the research at the Hutch to fight and defeat this disease
3. Join my team (Kick "Butt"lers) on June 28 in Seattle to walk or run in the event
Thank you in advance for your support and God Bless you.
