As many of you know, my dad passed away from lung cancer in May of 2015. He had a four year battle with ups and downs. It was a very painful experience and one me and my family will never forget. And yes, life must go on.
My dad is one of the main reasons I love snow sports. He enabled me and my two siblings to go skiing at very young ages. His main sport, basketball, also took place during the winter, but never did he push us towards playing that sport. Instead he was supportive of all of us doing what we were passionate about. When we decided to hang up the hard boots and try snowboarding, his support continued. He was a blast to ride with. Never complained about us taking him down something too steep or staying late to get a few more runs in.
This is my 3rd year registering for the Slayride Banked Slalom (I say registering, because I couldn't participate last year due to ACL surger), but first time looking for donations. This event combines my passion snowboarding with helping find a cure to cancer.
I plan on donating the minimum $175 myselft over the next few month, but hope to reach at least $500. Every donation counts. I hope you can support me.
Love,
Kurt
