This past year two more members of my family have been diagnosed with cancer. My father was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer last winter. He has completed his first round of treatment and now we wait for the results. My mother-in-law was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the mouth and has gone through surgery to remove the cancerous cells from her tongue. Both are doing well, but a vivid reminder that we've got a long way to go to find a cure for this disease.
We can beat cancer, and I believe research is the fastest path to curing cancer. Every year my wife and I donate to Fred Hutch and other charities to support the research for a cure.
I ride in memory of my father-in-law David Jester, who died of Hodgkins Lymphoma and Pancreatic Cancer
I ride in memory of my grandfather-in-law Charles Jester, who died of Prostate Cancer
I ride in honor of my grandmother-in-law Elva Jester, who survived Skin Cancer and Cervical Cancer
I ride in honor of my father, Bill Giffin, who was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer this past year
I ride in honor of my mother-in-law, Ruth Jester, who was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma (Skin Cancer) of the mouth this past year
I ride in memory of friends who lost their battle against cancer: Mickey Jean Becraft
I ride in honor of my friends and co-workers who are surviving cancer: Amy, Bob, Bradley, Brian, Charmaine, Emma, Josephine, Lisa, Logan, and Trish
I am riding in Obliteride to raise money for additional research and to make sure everyone diagnosed with cancer gets to be a survivor. With everyone's support I believe we can beat cancer in our lifetime.
I'll match every donation I get (and Microsoft will match my donation) tripling your donation towards cancer research.
