I mark August 2018 as my 6th Obliteride and my 6-year survival anniversary after DLBCL diagnosis!
I was treated with therapy that would not be available without research-- and have since completed 50 or 100 miles in every Obliteride -- including 100 miles for Obliteride in August 2014 after a stem cell transplant. This transplant was a direct result of research pioneered at Fred Hutch.
I work at Fred Hutch in the Global Oncology program, where we strive to understand how to better control cancer in limited-resource settings. Our partnership with the Uganda Cancer Institute is the centerpiece of these efforts. That's why this year I am again riding in the "Obliteride" to benefit the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. With 100% of every dollar donated going directly to cancer research at Fred Hutch, we can make a direct impact on research to prevent and treat cancer.
I hope you will donate to support my participation in the Obliteride in August.
