Since being diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in December 2017--my second cancer diagnosis--there have been so many highs and lows. And far too many amazing people who've been affected by this incideous disease.
This year, I ride for those who've lost their battles; my dad, my uncle Denton and my friend Ailish. Those who fought their own battles; my aunt Nancy, my grandma Dorothy, my aunt Millie, my friends Mariah, Lindsay, Brandy, Christine, Dorothy and Noel. For those who are currently fighting; my friends Robin and Laura, my friend Jenna's brother Matthew and my friend Lara's brother Aaron. For those who, sadly, are still yet to be diagnosed. And finally, for myself.
That list is TOO LONG! And I fear I've probably missed someone.
Unfortunately, half of all men and one third of all women in the U.S. will get cancer in their lifetime. It's time to find a cure. NOW!
I'm committing to Obliteride because I believe research is the fastest path to curing cancer, and I also believe the team at Fred Hutch can get us there. My dad benefitted from several Fred Hutch trials before his death and was a huge fan of his team at SCCA.
Please help me in this effort to put cancer in its place, behind us. Join my team for the ride or donate and tell others about Obliteride.
