I ride for my mom. Elizabeth. Jeff. Coach Kitty. Ginny. Kerri. Lara. Mary Sue. Emily. Jean. And for everyone who knows and loves them. And for me. And for you.

You may remember that I first rode in 2016 -- the summer after my mom's colon cancer diagnosis. That year she had surgery and did some oral chemotherapy (pill form). 2017 was pretty good, until the fall. The cancer returned and it had spread. My mom started IV chemo right away which has halted the spread. And now, her docs just identified an immunotherapy that has been working well on her particular type of colon cancer, so it looks like she will be trying that shortly. She's cutting edge at age 86! But I sure as hell wish she weren't going through this at all.

Riding 50 miles will be a challenge for me, but nothing compared to the challenge faced by those with a cancer diagnosis. Researchers are doing their best to get us more tools to prevent, treat, and cure cancer. We need to get them more funds to do so! My goal this year is to have 50 donors support my ride - one for every mile. No donation is too small. I appreciate all who donate and join in this community committed to putting cancer in its place - behind us!
