I AM COMMITTED TO CURING CANCER FASTER.

My story began on the morning of October 17th, 2016. I went to the doctor with symptoms of a kidney stone and ended up in the ER. Instead of a kidney stone, scans showed a mass on my right kidney which was likely to be kidney cancer. On Halloween 2016, I had my kidney removed. Tests confirmed that the mass was indeed kidney cancer and the doctors believe that everything was contained to that kidney.

Our team name was inspired by my sister during my recovery. She thought my remaining kidney should have a name and we decided to name it Karl the Kidney (Krusty was the kidney that got removed). Since Karl must tag along with me on the ride, I thought Karl’s Krew would make a great team name.

I’m committing to ride Obliteride this August because I believe research is the fastest path to curing cancer and I also believe the team at Fred Hutch can get us there.

Sadly, half of all men and one third of all women in the U.S. will get cancer in their lifetime.

Fred Hutch is learning more about cancer prevention, diagnostics and treatment and Obliteride can help us get to cures faster.

More than 300 labs and projects are working hard to save the lives of people all over the world by conducting innovative, high-impact cancer research.

This year, I will match every donation made through my rider account! (fine print: I will match a maximum of $10,000 total)
