I ride in memory of my mom. And in memory of, or in honor of, Elizabeth, Jeff, Coach Kitty, Ginny, Kerri, Lara, Mary Sue, Emily, and Jean. And for everyone who knows and loves them. And for me. And for you.
You may remember that I first rode in 2016 -- the summer after my mom's colon cancer diagnosis. She travelled all the treatment paths -- surgery, oral chemo, IV chemo, immunotherapy. But, cancer had its rotten way, and she passed away on April 10, 2019.
Riding 50 miles will be a challenge for me, but nothing compared to the challenge faced by those with a cancer diagnosis. Researchers are doing their best to get us more tools to prevent, treat, and cure cancer. We need to get them more funds to do so! My goal this year is to have 50 donors support my ride - one for every mile. No donation is too small. I appreciate all who donate and join in this community committed to putting cancer in its place - behind us!
