Join us for Obliteride 2019...in honor of Gail and so many others!

From Tori Quiles and Beth Goenen…

In fall of 2018 our beloved Gail – friend, mom, grandparent, and so much more – was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Over the last several months she has soldiered through weekly chemotherapy treatments, with Rick by her side every step of the way. The fight continues and we’d like to rally in honor of Gail and so many more loved ones whose lives have been touched by cancer.

We invite you to be part of our effort by participating in Obliteride as a walker, runner, or rider on August 10, or by making a contribution in support of Seattle’s own world-renowned Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

If you aren't familiar with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center...

Fred Hutch has a track record of curing cancer. Hutch scientists pioneered bone-marrow transplantation, bringing cures to millions of blood cancer patients and paving the way for cutting-edge immunotherapy research. Hundreds of thousands of cases of breast cancer have been avoided thanks to the Hutch-based Women's Health Initiative and Fred Hutch scientists made breakthrough contributions to the vaccine that prevents HPV, averting tens of thousands of cervical cancer cases each year. The Hutch is home to world-renowned experts in immunotherapy, cord-blood transplantation, precision oncology, infection-related cancers, health economics, fundamental sciences, prevention, and AIDS/HIV research.

To be at the forefront of innovation, Fred Hutch relies on private support – such as dollars raised from efforts like Obliteride – to kick-start projects. These contributions are leveraged into federal grants that are 10, to sometimes 100, times the original investment. Fred Hutch could not advance our life-saving work without gifts from people like you and me. Every dollar makes a difference! www.fredhutch.org
