I've lost so many loved ones to cancer, and I know you have to... I lost my Grandmother Eldora, my Uncle Kevin (who my son is named after), my Grandfather Don, my cat, Howard, and my beloved dog, Fred. I'm riding for my cousin Mari and my friend Jenny who are active survivors and thrivers. I want them to keep on living - breathing - sharing their stories and their heroism with others. Cancer has stricken so many of my friends's families - their uncles and aunts, Moms and Dads, their friends and mentors.
We need that to stop. I need it to stop... every one of these losses feels unpredictable, overwhelmingly heartbreaking and without consideration for gender, age, lifestyle, or how much we love them... we watch and feel them struggling through the treatments, the hope and the fear - so many don't make it, and for those that survive - the fear of its return. I live every day with the fear that it will tear my family apart again, or my own life... but we can work together to overcome this affliction.
More than 300 labs and projects are working hard to save the lives of people all over the world by conducting innovative, high-impact cancer research. I'm committed to supporting these labs so they can continue saving lives and can do so faster. Please join me in this fight.
It's time for us to put cancer in its place. Behind us.
Ride with me - I'm striving for the maximum 100 miles, donate to my ride, and tell others about Obliteride.
Thank you kindly and humbly,
