In my 14 years working at Fred Hutch I have seen the advances we've made in the fight against cancer. I have seen the changes in treatments and outcomes for patients. I believe we will beat cancer, but we can't do it without support. That's why I ride year in and year out. This is year 7 and I am not giving up the fight!
I continue to ride for all my friends and family who have been affected by cancer. It's not possible to say any one person's life hasn't been touched by cancer. Cancer is devastating for so many reasons. I want future generations not to be devastated by cancer. I want them to live in a world where cancer incidence rates decrease, not increase or stay the same. I want us to beat cancer, and that starts with funding research!
This means funding lifesaving research, whether it is developing new, novel and effective treatments in the fight against cancer, early detection studies, or community outreach programs to help prevent cancer and help people lead healthier lives. The fight against cancer requires all these approaches (and more)! I am blessed to work at Fred Hutch, where, everyday, the fight against cancer is being waged in the labs, in the clinics, in the community, and beyond.
All of us participating in Obliteride will come together in August to tell cancer we're not gonna take it anymore. And here's where I need your help. I've made a big commitment to make a statement against cancer. And I hope you'll make a statement, too. With 100% of every dollar donated going directly to cancer research at Fred Hutch, we can make a direct impact on research to save lives faster. I hope you'll donate because you believe in me, what I'm doing and that together, we can defeat cancer. No donation is too small! Whether you can give $5 or $50, $20 or $200, you will be a hero to me and all those who benefit from Fred Hutch's lifesaving research!
