On January 13th, 2014, my brother, Wally Lee, passed away with his family by his side. How could such a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother be unjustly taken from us?
In November of 2014 (same year Wally passed away), cancer touched my life once again. My son-in-law, Darren (aka 'DC'), was diagnosed with testicular cancer. The cancer was caught early and tumor was removed. He was in remission for six months. In early 2015, another cancerous tumor was detected in a lymph node in his lower abdomen. He went through nine weeks of chemotherapy and surgery to remove the tumors. Darren is currently in remission. He is an athlete, coach, trainer, mentor, and owner of SEAtown Crossfit in Seattle; and lives a healthy lifestyle.
As long as I can ride a bicycle, there will be a Team Wally Lee in Obliteride. Please help not only the Wally Lee Team but also everyone who has made a commitment to fighting cancer.
With 100% of every dollar donated going directly to cancer research at Fred Hutch, together we can impact research now that will save lives. You can donate now on the team’s fundraising page, http://engage.fredhutch.org/goto/WallyLee, or myself, http://engage.fredhutch.org/goto/RonLee.
