As a pediatric oncologist, I have the distinct honor of journeying alongside the most courageous children and families throughout their battles against cancer. I am inspired by the strength, resilience and unwavering hope the cancer experience reveals in our patients and their families. That said, I also bear witness to the heartbreak and suffering cancer causes everyone it touches. While the research happening at Fred Hutch and Seattle Children's is literally saving lives, we are still falling short. Often our treatments are too toxic and side effects burdensome, and at times even the most cutting edge research doesn't bring cure. We have to keep striving for new all encompassing and less costly cures!
Many lifesaving therapies that exist as a result of cancer research are made possible by the generosity of people like you who realize there's so much more work to be done and it takes major resources to do it. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center has more than 300 labs working hard to save the lives of people all over the world by conducting innovative, high-impact cancer research. I’m committed to supporting these labs so they can continue saving lives. Please join me in this fight!
It’s time for us to put cancer in its place. Behind us.
I ride for the children and their families who I have had the privilege to walk alongside during their courageous battle against cancer. I ride on Team Baldy Tops for sweet Allistaire, one of the absolute bravest and best! And I ride for my father-in-law, Ken Leger, who fought a brave fight and left a legacy of children and grandchildren who love Jesus and are passionate abut bringing His hope to the world, a hope even cancer can't stand against.
Ride with me, donate to my ride, and tell others about Obliteride.
