This is my second Obliteride with team GLYRIDES4CURE, which is a good/bad thing.
Good, because this team is serious about kicking cancer's butt, and I want a piece of that action. Bad, because this obviously means we're still looking for cures. This is the place to make a difference! Every single dollar we raise for the Hutch fuels the leading-edge science we need to improve therapies and ignite discoveries that Lead. To. Cures.
Cancer first entered my life as a young woman, when my beautiful vibrant mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is a survivor in every sense of the word, as are my feisty 95-year-old grandma and two hilarious aunts. But I lost my father-in-law, Jerry Cochrun, to pancreatic cancer in 2016, and this year, I added two more to my circle of heroes: a cousin fighting testicular cancer, and a co-worker taking on a rare form of leukemia.
