I'm back for year 3 of Obliteride! Last year, my parents came up to support me for the ride. But really I was hoping that they would feel the support of the thousands of riders, survivors and volunteers of this ride. They were overwhelmed! My Dad was encouraged by the stories being shared and being surrounded by so many cancer survivors, being one himself. My Mom couldn't get enough of the chalkboard wall, watching it fill up throughout the Friday celebration.
What do I hope to accomplish this year? Reach my support goal of $1000. The money raised helps fund cancer research. Without the doctors and teams who are searching for the cures my Dad's lymphoma treatment could have gone differently.
I also hope to talk with 3 riders during the ride and hear why they ride, who they're riding for. Whatever the reason, I want to know and let it fuel me. I'm going to ride the 50 mile route so there will be time to for these conversations.
This year, I'm still riding for my Dad the Survivor.
Please help me reach my goal of $1000 to fund research for cures for cancer. I'm riding on team REI Co-op Way - we go further together.
MY COMMITMENT TO CURING CANCER FASTER STARTS HERE.
CURES START HERE.
DISCOVERY STARTS HERE. COMMUNITY STARTS HERE.
HEALING STARTS HERE.
MY RIDE STARTS HERE.
I’m committing to ride Obliteride this August because I believe research is the fastest path to curing cancer and I also believe the team at Fred Hutch can get us there.
Sadly, half of all men and one third of all women in the U.S. will get cancer in their lifetime.
Fred Hutch is learning more about cancer prevention, diagnostics and treatment and Obliteride can help us get to cures faster.
More than 300 labs and projects are working hard to save the lives of people all over the world by conducting innovative, high-impact cancer research.
Please join me in this effort to put cancer in its place, behind us.
Ride with me, donate to my ride, and tell others about Obliteride.
