I’m Obliteriding to cure cancer faster — and I need your support!
Cancer affects everyone. I have had multiple family members who have been touched by cancer over the years, including my father, who has been diagnosed with three different types of cancer in his lifetime! Fortunately, they can all call themselves survivors but I know what it is like to be the frightened family member hanging out at the hospital bedside for hours on end. Now, with being an inpatient hematology/oncology provider at the UW, I care for patients and families going through similar struggles on a daily basis, most of them being without that good fortune. With each of these experiences and moments, the desire to give back grows ever stronger.
This August, I’m joining thousands of people in Seattle to bike, run, walk, and raise money to obliterate cancer. I’m doing this because I’m ready for a world where no family has to fear this disease. We’re making progress, but we have a long way to go.
I will be riding 50 miles for my family, your families, and my patients.
