I’m Obliteriding to cure cancer faster — and I need your support!
This August, I am joining the amazing Obliteride family *GO CURECYCLISTS!* with thousands of people who will be cycling, running, and walking - coming together to raise money towards our goal: to obliterate cancer.
Obliteride (https://obliteride.org)is an annual event dedicated to raising funds for cancer research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle.
I have chosen to participate in this incredible event because far too many people in my life have been affected by cancer and I am ready for a world where no family has to fear this disease. If I can help in any way to get closer to finding cures, I am all in. Even though fundraising is very new to me, it pushes me to really go outside of my comfort zone, pause the daily hustle and be involved in some goodness - and I am so thankful for your support in my journey :)
By participating and donating, we are helping more than 300 labs and projects that are working hard at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle to save the lives of people all over the world by conducting innovative, high-impact cancer research.
A little more about the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center...
Did you know? Fred Hutch developed bone marrow transplantation decades ago, and is the #1 recipient of NIH/government funding in the entire nation - pretty awesome right? Their teams of world-renowned scientists and humanitarians work together to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, HIV/AIDS and other diseases. The researchers (including three Nobel laureates!) bring a relentless passion to their work and deliver hope to patients who come here from all over the world. They’re discovering new ways to detect cancers earlier, when cure rates are highest; developing effective treatments with fewer side effects; and learning how to prevent cancers from developing in the first place. Already, researchers there are advancing breakthrough treatments, ramping up prevention and diagnosis, and bringing together the best minds in science, tech, and business to save more lives, more quickly. As you can see, it’s no surprise Fred Hutch is known as one of the best research centers in the world. However, Private philanthropy, is what funds novel, out-of-the-box ideas which will lead to cures. But bold research takes money — and that’s where we come in.
100% of every Obliteride-raised dollar will be going directly to the lifesaving research at Fred Hutch — and our team is committed to supporting this great organization and truly hope that you will consider donating on my page. Every (tax deductible) donation makes a difference, and any dollar amount helps!!
Please donate today, pass the word onto others and join me in putting cancer in its place: behind us!
