Hello family and friends! As many of you know, I've spent the majority of my career supporting the fundraising efforts of Seattle's Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. It's truly been a labor of love. And I'm more excited than ever before about the research being conducted by our brilliant scientists.
For those of you who aren't familiar with Fred Hutch... We have a track record of curing cancer. Our scientists pioneered bone-marrow transplantation, bringing cures to millions of blood cancer patients and paving the way for cutting-edge immunotherapy research. Hundreds of thousands of cases of breast cancer have been avoided thanks to the Hutch-based Women's Health Initiative and Fred Hutch scientists made breakthrough contributions to the vaccine that prevents HPV, averting tens of thousands of cervical cancer cases each year. The Hutch is home to world-renowned experts in immunotherapy, cord-blood transplantation, precision oncology, infection-related cancers, health economics, fundamental sciences, prevention, and AIDS/HIV research.
To be at the forefront of innovation, Fred Hutch relies on private support to kick-start projects. These contributions are leveraged into federal grants that are 10, to sometimes 100, times the original investment. Fred Hutch could not advance our life-saving work without gifts from people like you and me. Every dollar makes a difference!
In August 2018 the Quiles Family will be travelling in Europe, so we will be joining the Obliteride movement from afar as Touring Walkers. We invite you to be part of our team – as a touring walker or rider wherever you are on Saturday, August 11, by participating in Obliteride as a walker or rider in Seattle on August 11, or by making a contribution. THANK YOU!
