WE ARE COMMITTED TO CURING CANCER FOR LUCY.
OUR COMMITMENT TO CURING CANCER FASTER STARTS HERE.
CURES START HERE.
OUR RIDE STARTS HERE. #LUCYSTRONG
We are committing to ride Obliteride this August because we believe research is the fastest path to curing cancer and we also believe the team at Fred Hutch can get us there. Lucy wouldn't be here without the committment and dedication of the Pediactric team of doctors, nurses and researchers at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (Seattle Children's, Fred Hutch and Univerisy of Washington Medicine). Fred Hutch's research on bone marrow and stem cell transplants is groundbreaking.
Lucy is our team captain's 6 year old daughter. She was diagnosed with high risk ALL in December of 2014. She relapsed after her first bone marrow tranpslant so she received a cord blood tranpslant on July 1, 2016. She relapsed again on July 7, 2017. After many more rounds of chemo Lucy is back in remission. This is wonderful and remission DOES NOT EQUAL CURE. Lucy still may need a cure!
Sadly, half of all men and one third of all women in the U.S. will get cancer in their lifetime and about 300,000 kids will be diagnosed. Cancer kills 1 in 5 children. That's about one full Seahawks stadium a year.
Fred Hutch is learning more about cancer prevention, diagnostics and treatment and Obliteride can help us get to cures faster.
ALL MONEY GOES DIRECTLY TO FRED HUTCH CANCER RESEARCH CENTER. More than 300 labs and projects are working hard to save the lives of people all over the world by conducting innovative, high-impact cancer research.
We have all been touched by cancer. Let's get rid of this beast!!! Please join us in this effort to put cancer in its place, behind us.
Walk with us, donate to our walk, and tell others about Obliteride.
Thank you for your consideration,
Team Lucy Strong
